A busy family in Islington (London, N5) is looking for a RUSSIAN SPEAKING kind, patient, enthusiastic and sporty live-out nanny for 4-4 afternoons a week – after school hours. The paralegal/legal assistant position is for the London office of a large US law firm. Candidates normally would have completed both an undergraduate Law Degree and the Legal Practice Course or BVC (or equivalent). The position offers candidates a chance to gain good commercial experience in a busy team and participate in large-scale cases of an international nature.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• corresponding with clients and third parties together with co-ordinating small- and large-scale national and international distributions of documentation.
• co-ordinating disclosure exercises, creating trial bundles and compiling bundles of authorities for use in High Court disputes and international arbitrations;
• legal research on points of English and European law, analysing client documents and drafting memoranda to lawyers, conveying results of research and analytical conclusions.

• setting up of court rooms with appropriate documents and technology;
• performing outdoor clerking duties with respect to filings at the Royal Courts of Justice;
• creating and maintaining a library of commercial litigation precedents;

• carrying out English/Russian and Russian/English interpreting and document translations - previous experience of these duties is a requirement for this position.
Candidates will be expected to work 9-5pm and a weekend shift every 2 months. Candidates should be aware that substantial overtime and travel are both requirements of the position.
We would expect a lawyer with the given PQE to have gained the level of experience required, but this does not preclude applications from those with more or less PQE.
